You can also get the expanding foam post fix, but, I wouldnt trust it really, especially where I live on the side of a valley and when the storms blow in the right direction, whistling down the valley, nowt is safe!

Cannot beat a breaky uppy mode, saves the hand cramps and chipped knuckles knocking ten bells out of a chod of conc with a hammer and chisel.

I have a massive JCB drill with a concrete breaky uppy mode which has got me out of jail free a couple of times replacing rotted fence posts that has been concreted in.

Putting my 2 deckings in.... I've dug enough post holes to last me a life time... I feel sorry for the future poor sod who may want to shift'em... Like most things I do, I tend to go over the top, and as such, I've probably got shares in postcrete! :D

Consult a qualified electrician for compliance with BS 7671 and local building Regs! Avoid areas where future digging is likely. ;)

That depends on where the cable is to run. Minimum depth in a garden in 450mm. Under pavements 600mm.

Well, I've got a hold of Qube, the laddo is going to send me the blitz code archive, the old ones... Which were definitely PD

If someone says what about the newest additions and what not, I'm not sure how that will spring because he's sharing data on users which might be a bit shady really data protection wise, it's probably best if users have put stuff on SB that they do it again on their own accord.

Also, he's going to put a link on the spinning SB logo page, hopefully people who didn't use BRL tools will see it...

Maintenance Mode pages may appear intermittently through the course of the next few days, it's open at the minute so people can register their nicknames in case someone tries to do a bit of an alias thing, which would be a good idea if you want to guarantee your usual online nickname

So there we are, happy times and all that jazz! \o/

Yeah I would say that would be a bit of an issue. Are the new additions classed as PD or would they be copyright.
I think you'd only fall foul on the data protection stuff if email addresses etc were shared. A solicitor would be a bigger help with that sort of stuff.

If a user that signs up doesn't want to copy over that data themselves, then I would think that they would have to give written permission that's been witnessed by someone in a position of authority, such as doctor, a court official, politician, etc; to you and qube to authorise the transfer of that data.
If you've dug yourself into a hole. Just keep digging. You're bound to come out the other side eventually.

Email sent, Dabz, with the link to the old Blitz forums. It's the latest version I which was pretty much the final day or so  8)

And I bet Qube wished he was twenty years younger as well.

Come to think of it. I wished I was, and knew what I know now. I wouldn't make the same mistakes again, but I'd certainly make a bunch of new ones.

I know for a fact I'd make the same mistakes, I'm like coleslaw... 85% cabbage! :D hehehe

@Qube

I noticed you put a link on your page... Thank you please! :)

I suppose now we have to see if old faces wander through the door!

Talking of old info from SyntaxBomb, I've lost all the info (contained in my signature) on the computers I own!  :o

I can never remember the *exact* generation and model of Intel chips, the exact graphics card or how much memory the card has because I have a bunch of systems.

I guess I better turn on that Intel i5 machine I haven't used in ages, open up the laptops and go through Sys Info on them.

Dabzy

Maybe just PM Qube and see if he can pull your sig from the old database, won't take him a minute!

Yeah I'll ask him, it'll save me a fair bit of time.  :)

Steve Elliott

Qube made that happen, thanks Qube. :D

RemiD

should we re-post the code examples that were added on syntaxbomb (after blitzbasic closed, and before syntaxbomb closed) ?

i still have copies of some of them (bb).

or maybe only the essential ones ?

Dabzy

I'll be putting them up, but I'll have to lose details (If you've noticed in the bb.com archive pages I put in, there is no author info, unless it's in the code)

So, yeah, ideally I would prefer if they were manually entered, and when I come to add them from the wayback machine, I'll just skip ones that are already in place.
