You can also get the expanding foam post fix, but, I wouldnt trust it really, especially where I live on the side of a valley and when the storms blow in the right direction, whistling down the valley, nowt is safe!

Cannot beat a breaky uppy mode, saves the hand cramps and chipped knuckles knocking ten bells out of a chod of conc with a hammer and chisel.

I have a massive JCB drill with a concrete breaky uppy mode which has got me out of jail free a couple of times replacing rotted fence posts that has been concreted in.

Putting my 2 deckings in.... I've dug enough post holes to last me a life time... I feel sorry for the future poor sod who may want to shift'em... Like most things I do, I tend to go over the top, and as such, I've probably got shares in postcrete! :D

Consult a qualified electrician for compliance with BS 7671 and local building Regs! Avoid areas where future digging is likely. ;)

That depends on where the cable is to run. Minimum depth in a garden in 450mm. Under pavements 600mm.

I'll start... Everyone knows me as Dabz, even family, and I only really get called my proper name Michael or Mick when a) Someone wants something, or b)I'm getting bollocked! :D

I'm from the North-East of England, in a county called Durham.

I've been programming since I was, what, 9 years old, and still rubbish at it, lol, started on an Amstrad CPC, programming dropped off the radar when I hit the teen years, but revived when my brother bought a Tiny laptop (Don't even go there) and I discovered BlitzBasic on PC Floormats cover disc.

And well, I've build a few things for iOS and sold them for beers tokens, I've been chased off the Android store by Atari because I dare'd use a word in my games title, which the title was called "Asteroid Dodge"... How very naughty of me eh? ??? Knobs

So, there we go, quick summary of moi!

Over to you! ;)

Chalky

Chalky here (Ian). Started programming in 1985 after dropping out of music college and buying a Yamaha CX5M. I actually bought it for its musical capabilities but discovered MSX Basic and taught myself to program - which led to a 16+ year career as a programmer (RGB400 on 2 AS/400s).

Been a professional musician since 2002 but still program (VB6 and BlitzMax) in my spare time.

Dabzy

Hello everyone,

I signed up using my old user name from the AppGameKit forums on TheGameCreators website.

Looking forward to being a part of this community.
Being popular is way too much work, I just want to be me, myself and I. Oh no, does that mean I'm bipolar?

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.

WilliamOfBaskerville

Hi everyone,

I got into the world of computers back in 1984 with a Commodore 64. Great times with those 8-bit machines! In 1986 I moved on to a Commodore 128, and eventually got an Amiga 500 in 1989. I still do some hobby programming every now and then. Right now, I'm trying to develop a BASIC interpreter. I work in the software industry, but not as a developer—I'm in application support for an ERP system.
Kind regards,
William

Dabzy

Welcome Willian! :)

Bit of string theory eh... Amazing when doing such a thing you realise plain old strings can give the mind a good run out, like one giant puzzle! :)

Good luck with the project, and let us know how you get on! ;)

therevills

G'day from down under! ;D

I'm Steve, been a Blitz coder since the Amiga days, but similar to Dabz started my programming journey on the greatest 8bit computer there was - the Amstrad CPC 464!

I grew up in Sheffield UK, studied there at Sheffield Hallam Uni, got a degree in software engineering, then moved over to Australia to be with Kylie the love of my life  :-*

Now I've been in the "proper" IT industry for 20 years and currently an Integration Architect.

For a hobby Kylie and myself formed our little indie game company "The Revills Games"  where we were inspired by Jake Birkett from Grey Alien Games to start it up.

I've been playing games since the Amstrad days (Roland on the Ropes, Robocop), moving to the Amiga 600 (SWOS, Elite 2:Frontier, CM2) and then to PC. Love playing Nintendo games Mario/Kart etc.

Recently I've converted Kylie to playing VR games so now we play a lot of co-op games together on the Meta Quest 3.

Cheers to Dabz for setting this site up  8)

Thanks,
Steve
