You can also get the expanding foam post fix, but, I wouldnt trust it really, especially where I live on the side of a valley and when the storms blow in the right direction, whistling down the valley, nowt is safe!

Cannot beat a breaky uppy mode, saves the hand cramps and chipped knuckles knocking ten bells out of a chod of conc with a hammer and chisel.

I have a massive JCB drill with a concrete breaky uppy mode which has got me out of jail free a couple of times replacing rotted fence posts that has been concreted in.

Putting my 2 deckings in.... I've dug enough post holes to last me a life time... I feel sorry for the future poor sod who may want to shift'em... Like most things I do, I tend to go over the top, and as such, I've probably got shares in postcrete! :D

Consult a qualified electrician for compliance with BS 7671 and local building Regs! Avoid areas where future digging is likely. ;)

That depends on where the cable is to run. Minimum depth in a garden in 450mm. Under pavements 600mm.

Choosing a Security Software Suite

It's come to that time again when I have to renew my Windows Security software. And I came across a review that said that Avira was a pretty decent. But I think that it's a bit on the pricey side, and doesn't give you the option of selecting less than 5 devices.

Now my go to in the past would have been Kaspersky. But due to the current times, it's not really a good option anymore.
If you've dug yourself into a hole. Just keep digging. You're bound to come out the other side eventually.

I use Kasperspy it also has a VPN as well. Could you explain more about current times  ::)

I would have thought that people would know who the owners are, where their head office is, and why they are no longer being reviewed by personal computer journalists. Look it up.

Yeah, trusting your cyber security to Kaspersky is like getting Gary Glitter in to look after this kids for the evening.

Just don't.

Naughty Alien

So far, ESET seems to be a good choice, as far as i can tell.

Yeah. I was testing it out. Used it a long time ago.
I sometimes watch the PC Security Channel to check if something is reasonably good.

I've used Avira years ago, but at some point Windows built-in tools became good enough, so I haven't felt it necessary to invest in any 3rd party tools in a long time.

How do you go about the VPN bit?

I don't use VPN as there are downsides, but as a free alternative there is ProtonVPN  protonvpn.com

for anti malwares, i use 'malwares bytes', no problem for years... i sometimes have to create exceptions to browse some websites because the web protection is paranoid...

i also use the 'Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool' from time to time.

for VPN, i use 'mullvad', because it has no kyc and it accepts monero xmr for payments, which subcomunicates that it is really for protecting the privacy of its users... but i rarely use the VPN, only in some cases...

I used to use Avast and had been using it for over 30 years, but when I found out they went against their own privacy policy and sold peoples information, I switched. I now use Panda Dome. I read somewhere that supposedly they have not been compromised.
Being popular is way too much work, I just want to be me, myself and I. Oh no, does that mean I'm bipolar?
