You can also get the expanding foam post fix, but, I wouldnt trust it really, especially where I live on the side of a valley and when the storms blow in the right direction, whistling down the valley, nowt is safe!

Cannot beat a breaky uppy mode, saves the hand cramps and chipped knuckles knocking ten bells out of a chod of conc with a hammer and chisel.

I have a massive JCB drill with a concrete breaky uppy mode which has got me out of jail free a couple of times replacing rotted fence posts that has been concreted in.

Putting my 2 deckings in.... I've dug enough post holes to last me a life time... I feel sorry for the future poor sod who may want to shift'em... Like most things I do, I tend to go over the top, and as such, I've probably got shares in postcrete! :D

Consult a qualified electrician for compliance with BS 7671 and local building Regs! Avoid areas where future digging is likely. ;)

That depends on where the cable is to run. Minimum depth in a garden in 450mm. Under pavements 600mm.

My Quake2 Map Enhanced by AI

@Hardcoal,

I guess I should explain myself!

I normally use TGE 1.4 to create my games, and Quark Army Knife was the only level (map) editor that I found that could do what I wanted for a fair price.  Then someone introduce me to Trenchbroom, and I like that program much bettor.  Now that I am using Godot, plus I plan on adding either O3DE or CRYENGINE to my repertoire, I use that as my main map editor.  It exports to quake map file formats as well.

Quote from: RemiD on Jul 20, 2025, 09:13 PMif i remember correctly, Krischan has managed to import maps made with a quake map editor (netradiant),

Correct, but it was for Q3 BSP. I've also written a tool in Blitzmap to read a BSP and render a command map from it complete in Blitzmax. But I could NEVER find out how to render a patch, so I always had to render the BSP with -patchmeta to "bypass" this :P

See here for the ETCC tool, Download link in the description, but the tool maybe won't work from the scratch as it was written in Blitzmax OS and MiniB3D - I started a rewrite in OpenB3D but never finished it.

For comparison: the same map ingame in action

I have also created a (currently stopped) game project which uses OpenB3D and shaders, which uses this method to load and render BSP maps for a RPG game. Even created an editor to write 3D MAP files for Radiant from a 2D map.
Kind regards

Krischan
